UK Post Acid (Ceephax, Roy of the Ravers, Chevron, Gasman, etc)

#1

Hello friends. I recently dove into Ceephax Acid Crew’s work after long time casual interest, and it made me recognize unique qualities of a scene that has been going on around the UK (and beyond?) for a while now. There seem to be all these artists with mostly low levels of recognition making nostalgic, melodic electronic music with old hardware. The scene has an earnest, outsider quality that can be hard to come by these days in the electronic scene, and seems to produce heartfelt melodies that transcend the lofi sonics of their music. Does this scene have a proper name? Any favorites? Am I making this all up?

Here’s a Spotify playlist I’m working on including the folks I’ve found so far - Ceephax Acid Crew, Roy of the Ravers, Chcevron, Boxcutter, Cylob, EOD, The Gasman

yeah, and it seems to me that the new gravitational center of the post-Rephlex braindance scene is Analogical Force (and maybe Occult Research).
