Is techno/house static?

lol can’t believe folkx is being used on here, that’s like saying death in june, a neo-folkx band.

also berlin clubbing is not/has never been as egalitarian as people want it to be, ever tried getting into a berlin club if you’re turkish/kurdish?

4 m immigrants and germany still hasn’t come up with something to rival UK Desi Beats or jungle outside of hip hop.

White and brown/black kids don’t mix over there in the same way as they might in the UK or US. German techno bros should be ashamed of themselves when pondering this fact.

It’s the same everywhere in continental Europe. There are hardly any immigrants doing club music, it’s all hip-hop. Maybe the Netherlands as exception.

Yeah that bleak industrial masochistic thing have to go away now and as you say early downwards and harder acid was at least danceable. The modern stuff is just pure nihilism.

i liked that things were getting back to that raw 90s feel around 2012-13 but by around 16 you just producers like 99999999999 or zzzzzzzzzzzzz or whatever making the most uninspired monotonous berghain crap, people who would have never heard of Jeff Mills or Claude Young or Surgeon and it shows. I’m not saying every techno producer has to respect tradition or whatever but yeah then there’s this problem.

it’s not really a problem but an inevitability. history is cyclical. theres always going to be mediocre music. and some mediocre stuff is gonna get hype as long as its on trend. cant be helped
