Anything pushing the envelope or trying to reach to new places. Utilizing multiple genres and basically throwing notions or rules out with the other popularized trash. So it goes… more than just promos please… suggestions, discoveries, questions, challenges and/or project collaboration / compilation call outs… blah blah… may be nice as well. Be clever… if not there is always the other trite genre topics to nod your head. Oi.

Here is a compilation we put together for the official or rather overdue proper launch of our small label Dysgeusia Records / Ignorant Ear Tapes. We were blessed in the quality of submissions we were given. As well as the many others we personally sought out and pleaded that we should be able to use handpicked tracks we liked very much after digging through our contemporaries catalogs. What we ended up with we are very proud of and believe it stands as very worthy glimpse into experimental music in the year 2017 in a small pocket of like minded individuals spanning styles and influences but all invoking a DIY ethos in spirit and effort. From the dark folk of the underground legend Ed Askew starting it off to the last plunderphonic ‘vaporpunk’ of Phoenix Brown, who you may know better as Henry Rollins (Black Flag, Rollins Band, SOA) with many new comers and steadfast veterans of the underground noise scene through out. From Harsh Noise Wall to Dark Ambient, Neofolk to Avant-jazz there is a bit of everything for anyone willing and eager to look beyond the normal sounds choking the airwaves and boring the ipod shuffles. Go in with an open mind and you may just find some veritable gold intangible herein. Tangible if you’re swift enough. A few stragglers left. Enjoy and share with friends and foes alike if you would or want or could should… kaput.
