On about buying a better mixer this weekend. Been lookin at the mackie 12profx and the yamaha mg10xu. Swaying towards the mackie as its cheaper and has faders + 2 extra channels. Anyone got any advice or trusted mixers?

ive had a mackie 1402vlz for a while and its a tank. would definitely recommend. (plus you can do the gabber/DnB preamp overdrive trick)

ive heard not so nice things about the yamaha mixers

if i was shopping for myself, id probly pass on mixers w/ built-in fx, just cuz i think ud get better quality and flexibility (and lower cost) by using whatever exterrnal fx you like on the aux bus

ive never owned one, but i know folks like the allen & heath mixers. the zed 12 seems like a cool one for a nice price with those long throw faders

Im gonna go to a few shops this weekend and talk it out with some ppl. I can omit fx desks because I have fx units. That particular desk was just cheap. I run everything thru an audio interface atm so considering replacing that with a usb desk maybe ?
