inspired by the new yves tumor track which I think is by faaaaar the best track of this year and perhaps 2017, I wanted to start a thread for music from the electronic “underground” that in your eyes are pop masterpieces. Tbh can be regular old pop if the production feels interesting or cool and it’s not just the melody that is the reason why it’s a great pop song.
Only track I can think of right now that reaches that level of “wow” is…
first, can I just say that the Jaxx are like one of the most underrated pop acts of all time? fuckin A. SO MANY unbelievable earworm classics throughout their whole catalog. we could probably start an entire Jaxx appreciation thread.
Jaxx love aside, I am totally 200% into George Clanton’s two solo records and I think Slide is gonna be AOTY for me. it’s like Tears for Fears ghostwrote an Ariel Pink record and got Kevin Shields to executive produce.
They are so underrated it’s silly, but won’t go more into my basement jaxx fandom so I don’t risk outing myself here… …
