Hiele Martens is the collaboration between Lieven Martens (https://lievenmartens.bandcamp.com) and Roman Hiele (https://hiele.bandcamp.com), both from Belgium.
Lieven Martens works are mainly field recordings (this is a great example: https://lievenmartens.bandcamp.com/album/two-pastorals), whilst Hiele has an idm-ish background (I’d suggest you to listen to his album Ritmische Bezinning: https://hiele.bandcamp.com/album/ritmische-bezinning).
This new collaboration brings to a great dialogue between electronics and nature. It sometimes feel like the two artists are having fun playing with these two worlds, making the one imitate the other and viceversa. The result goes through modern classical moments, merely electroacoustic improvisation and spiritual chants (I guess…?).
The first part of the album (Lips, the first 8 tracks) was already released as a vinyl-only limited edition issue in 2017.
