As someone who still hasn’t found their holy grail headphone-wise, i’m interested to know what headphones you folks are using and how you find them. What strengths in particular they have, what genres of music they really suit, etc.
More specifically, if anyone knows of any in-ear headphones that have deep, deep bass extension but also go nicely with ambient music etc, then that info would very much interest me.

Big caveat here that I’m really not an audiophile when it comes to be able to pick out subtle differences between hardware. And I’ve not listened to loads of different headphones to compare.
However I just got a pair of in ear Sennheiser momentums (50% off thanks to a generous 10% per goal in an england match offer) and I’m really impressed with how the bass sounds in them. I listen to a lot of drum and bass and dub. And I’ve also listened to quite a bit of ambient and have been really impressed with the level of detail. My other pair of headphones are HD-25 MK II, which it’s almost needless to say are incredible. The momentum’s aren’t the HD-25s obviously, but I’ve been incredibly impressed about how much punch they pack.
