Drake VS Pusha BEEF

#1

I don’t see a thread about this yet? Y’all see what just went down?

That’s Drake in the image. Watch the lyric video also.

FUCK DRAKE!

Drake: you never actually sold drugs haha :sunglasses:

Pusha: you have a secret child with a pornstar and your producer is going to die

Drake:

#3

How will Drake respond? This beef is heating up.

#4

This track went off, Surgical Summer indeed.

Does Drake have a new album out soon? Marketing game aside, if he manages any half way decent response to this savagery I can only hope it escalates to the point that Malice discards the ‘No’ and then we get something from Clipse and the Re-Up Gang.

#5

some extra context here for those who are interested

#6

I don’t see how Drake can even respond, short of not only having similar sort of paparazzi dirt on Push, but having something that really undermines his cold drug dealer image – Push being a secret deadbeat dad isn’t really going to affect his public image.

Puts to rest anyone claiming it was just marketing, though.

#7

yo pusha cold aint no way drake can come back from that

spitting over story of oj and releasing the black face drake pic as well

I think this is one of my favourite things about Pusha’s recent output. From the artwork, to the production, to the lyrics, it’s all thought out.

I went to check some of the samples from Daytona and one of the samples off “Come Back Baby” was a pretty depressing soul song about drug addiction. Just appreciate that his recent stuff is very 3 dimensional like that, even when he’s annihilating Drake haha.

I think Drake has to come back with something, otherwise it’s just going to be bought up any time he does anything. I don’t see how he can come back from it, unless, you’re right, Drake has dirt that undermines Pusha’s cred. I don’t think he can stay silent either. Pusha went IN, jesus christ.

Drakes statement about the photo, whilst disregarding the murderous lyrics, is surely the end of it, he needs to lay low and and focus on renaming his trainer brand. :grinning:

Revisionist after how much I enjoyed the track on first few passes, but I’d have preferred Pusha to ignore 40’s illness. There was enough brutality in there without that, weird how we can gloss over things just because we are fans or enjoy something. Hell, Nas got a pass using an f-bomb in Ether remember but that was a long time ago now, i’d hope we’ve all collectively moved on since then.

Honestly the news Pusha has something cooking up with Rabit makes me a little giddy.

Beyond that… it’s not like Drake’s incompetent or anything, but he still messed up BIG time by thinking Pusha is anywhere near what Meek is. Both Drake and Pusha fall (along with a lot of artists tbqh) into the “wouldn’t feel comfortable with them if I actually knew them” zone, but you can’t deny Pusha’s track record.

#11

Move along, nothing to see here. Two balloons attempting to puncture one another. File under ‘banal’

#12

Oooooo where was this mentioned?

#13

@Alicks https://www.complex.com/music/2018/05/pusha-t-in-contact-with-producer-rabit-who-accused-drake-of-stealing-scary-hours-artwork

#14

Can we have this as a general Pusha T thread? Cos there’s a new Clipse song coming…

#15

the shit about 40 was harsh and a bit offensive, but so was drake blastin on cudi for being vocal about his mental health issues that he was trying to fix. and who produced that track again? oh right :grimacing:

yeah push was harsh and offensive for sure, but at least its karmaticly fair.

besides push kinda knows drake already took down a lot of normal refereeing for rap beefs, trying diss kanye out of the blue as a way to distract. push is just only honest about how brutal the beef has become. drake been a poptimist darling even longer then being respected in the hip hop scene, and he tries the market himself as the better person. pusha’s entire (critically acclaimed AND street respected) career is based on the persona of a rudeass gangsta druglord, so he doesnt need to lie about some abstract “fairness” that no one really believes in anyway. and for good reason.

#16

the most astonishing accomplishment in pusha’s career now is doing the shit that no rapper, from the most novice (meek mill) to the most senior (joe budden), was able to do, even with its ease of concept: make drake seem like the authoritarian loser he rlly is. no amount of “altruistic” neoliberal advertising for himself and ovo or winning beefs of b-list rappers by way of instagram meme slideshow can hide the fact now that the dude is most likely a misogynist sellout with a racial identity problem.

i hope, more then anything about beef with one or two people, that just spells the near end of the McTrap era of mainstream american hip hop p soon

#17

DRAKE IS BURIED woiaaiiiaa

#18

oh yeah, is it just me or did pusha sound weirdly higher pitched then usual on the adidon audio? sounds like they gave someone a bit too much laughing gas before surgical summer

#19

Whatever happens now tho, drakes entire Adidas and album launch is derailed cos everyone’s gonna focus on this. Also pusha mentioned his mum in a way I’ve never heard on a diss record before :joy: cold. Drakes image is too clean to get as dirty as push did.
