It looks like Conditional are going to make at honest run at being a great label for brain melting futuristic sounding IDM. They’ve got a lot of stuff with some insane sounding synthesis, but this album (and the William Fields EP that came before it and is also worth checking out) apply a warped version of dance music grammar to it. RIYL Mark Fell & Gabor Lazor etc, but Katinsky’s got a distinct take, like the flow of Fell’s music has always felt pretty natural to me, but this stuff can feel more like it’s fighting against the current at times. If you like physical stuff there’s a cassette of this but it’s an edition of 40 so you may want to act fast.
