Sorry I haven’t been the most active here. We went on a mini-tour then I escaped to the woods for a month to write at an artist residency that I was lucky enough to get. But I’ve been struggling with questions about the how/what of promoting my band’s latest release. We did hire a music publicist for last one. It was expensive and it lead to a few reviews on music blogs but they didn’t lead to any noticeable improvement in sales or streams. We have been toying with hiring a digital marketing company to do Spotify campaign. It’s expensive so we are on the fence. I am curious to hear about how other electronic bands promote their music and get people to listen and engage. It’s hard when you spend two years on an album and a lot of time and money without a label (which we have never pursued). My own listening habits tends to revolve around reading blogs (P4K, FACT, etc.) and friend suggestions, and I have never really given into Spotify, even though I use Apple Music which is just as bad/good. Thinking aloud here so apologizing for the length…
